lyrics

Wedding March Remix! Mendelssohn has no lyrics - we've all heard (or sung) "Here comes the bride, all dressed in white...." or something similar, but these are just the spontaneous creation of some unknown individual many decades ago, and never actually sung at a wedding.

There were lyrics sung to this melody in the opera Lohengrin by Wagner, but these were in German, and have not been translated in a way that sings well in English. Even if they did sing well, they might not be appropriate for a wedding recessional song, as things went downhill pretty quickly for the tragic heroine of the opera, Elsa, and her newly betrothed husband, Lohengrin.
