    AVE MARIA VIOLIN SCHUBERT - tender violin solo of this beloved piece. Franz Schubert wrote the music, though it was not originally intended for the Ave Maria - it was composed for Sir Walter Scott's epic poem The Lady Of The Lake. An anonymous individual attempted to fit the Ave Maria lyric to Schubert's music, and succeeded with a few changes.

    Though Ave Maria is here a violin solo, it has been recorded by countless vocal artists - Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, Andrea Bocelli, Steve Wonder, Aaron Neville, Joan Baez, Barbra Streisand, and many more.

Ave Maria Violin (Schubert) - Schubert wrote this piece when he was 28 years old; sadly, for one who wrote such romantic, touching music, he only lived to be 31. Written for voice and piano originally, it is probably most commonly heard as a recording with voice and orchestra. Our arrangement features solo violin accompanied by a muted string section, flute and clarinet playing the moving 16th note figures, and harp contributing a bit of support and rolled chords.
