  • PRELUDE IN C by BACH - Prelude in C is the foundation piece for the Bach - Gounod Ave Maria; you'll recognize the chord structure and running 16th notes that are so reminiscent of the 2nd most well known Ave Maria. Bach has composed much music for weddings, and this piece makes for a pleasant and gentle wedding prelude or processional song. This is a piano solo with a very soft wash of sound in the background that is almost invisible but provides a gentle underpinning for the running 16th notes that start in the first measure and continue unabated until the final chord. It is a fairly easy piece for young piano players, due to the predictable rhythmic pattern and that it is in the key of C, arguable the easiest key in which to play the piano.
