Spring from Four Seasons Vivaldi wedding music sample - played by a medium size string ensemble. The Four Seasons, written in 1723, is Vivaldi's most famous work, indeed one of the most well known baroque compositions. Spring is one of four violin concerti that comprise the work. A sprightly but not too aggressive sound makes this an ideal wedding choice. The interplay of solo instruments in the middle of the movement we has chosen evokes images of birds twittering (not tweeting!) on a beautiful spring morning. Written to accompany four sonnets, it is thought Vivaldi himself may have written the sonnets. As such, The Four Seasons, and Spring in particular, are considered Program Music.
