    Orchestral Version of the traditional wedding march a.k.a The Bridal Chorus, also called "Here Comes The Bride" (and sometimes Bridal March), featuring string quartet with small string orchestra, solo french horn, and percussion - orchestra chimes, orchestra bells, and muted timpani. This music of this arrangement will give you approximately 1:40 to make the journey from your entrance until you join the rest of the bridal party. Our shorter wedding march|bridal chorus orchestra version is about 1:15.

The Wedding March (Here Comes The Bride) is a selection from the opera "Lohengrin" composed by Richard Wagner; here presented in a medium length orchestra arrangement as a bridal processional. Go to our Bridal Chorus Variations (click above where it says "from Bridal Chorus Variations") to hear a shorter orchestral arrangement, or additional versions for pipe organ, traditional piano, string quartet, and softer, reflective piano.

lyrics

There are or course no standard lyrics for the Wedding March, unless you are thinking of the words from the opera, which to our knowledge are never used in modern day weddings. Some have tried writing English words, but no attempts have successfully caught on.

In the opera Lohengrin, this song, sung as the ladies of the bridal party accompany the bride back to the bridal chamber, ends with these lyrics:

Faithfully guarded, remain behind
where the blessing of love shall preserve you
Triumphant courage, love and happiness
join you in faith as the happiest of couples
